WOMI & BluPrint Unite to Celebrate Female Talent in Music

Updated: Sep 27

In a landmark event, WOMI (Women of Music India) and BluPrint, a boutique talent management agency based in Delhi, brought together 100 executives and artists to celebrate women in the music industry. This milestone event in Delhi aimed to empower female creators and foster an ecosystem of growth and collaboration. For young women in music, it offered a rare opportunity to connect with industry leaders, creating a space for future mentorship and partnership.

The evening kicked off with a keynote speech by the founder of WoMI, Priyanka Khimani, setting a powerful tone for the evening. Notable attendees included Rajiee Shinde, a film producer and CEO at Sai Mehar Media, Baruni Sharma of The Studio Bakers amongst many. Prominent artists such as Aastha Gill and Mansa Jimmy added to the star quotient of the evening.

The evening featured standout performances by rising female talent, with Shriya Rao, an 18-year-old prodigy opening with unreleased music exploring R&B/Soul and Pop sounds, followed by Viepsa who took listeners on a spiritual journey with songs from her debut EP Rumi’s Revenge. Bawari Basanti delivered a strong live set from her upcoming EP Uthi Draupadi, reimagining the mythological figure in the digital age. Aastha Gill brought the crowd to life with her hit Nazar and other favorites, while DJ Rabab Randhawa energised the room with an electrifying house set. Mansa Jimmy made a surprise appearance with an impromptu performance, perfectly capturing the evening’s celebratory spirit.

Talking about this unique initiative Sweta Ojha, co-founder at BluPrint said, "It has always been our long-term vision to foster a thriving ecosystem for women in the industry. I've often said that women bring balance and perspective, without which the music industry would lose its essence. I’m proud to have played a part in strengthening the foundation for this incredible community and to provide a platform where these powerful voices can finally be heard."

Priyanka Khimani, founder of Women Of Music India added, “I was amazed with the collective power of the voices and energy in the room last evening! I’m pleasantly surprised Delhi had this in store for us, and I’m hoping that Women of Music India can be just the catalyst we need to champion this beautiful city and its musical genius.”

This event, the result of BluPrint and WOMI’s partnership, is part of a larger mission to create more opportunities for women in music, giving them the platform to lead as creators and industry influencers. It marks a significant step forward for the industry and its future female talent.
